PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bo Blacksmith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dark Koleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Blacksmith might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to NWA. Koleman has chosen Shitty Rap Music as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bo Blacksmith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dark Koleman!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Koleman closes the distance and clinches.
Blacksmith blocks an elbow strike from Koleman.

Koleman gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Koleman tries to pass the half guard into mount. Blacksmith knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Koleman is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Blacksmith won't allow Koleman to pass to mount.
Koleman seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Dark Koleman.
Blacksmith misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Koleman.

Koleman gets a clinch.
Koleman displaying some good clinch control by pressing Blacksmith up against the cage.
Blacksmith is trying to break the clinch but Koleman has him pressed against the cage.
Blacksmith is pressed up against the cage. Koleman has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Blacksmith down to the mat. Blacksmith avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Koleman has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Blacksmith avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Koleman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Koleman pushes Blacksmith up against the cage in a clinch.

Koleman has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Blacksmith clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Blacksmith looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Koleman has the hooks in. Blacksmith is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Koleman has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Blacksmith's body.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Dark Koleman.

Koleman rushes Blacksmith and presses him up against the cage.
Blacksmith working hard to break the clinch.
A hook to the body from Koleman.
Blacksmith tries to circle away but Koleman has him pinned against the cage.
Blacksmith prevents the takedown attempt.
Bo Blacksmith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dark Koleman.
Koleman drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Koleman is trying to drag Blacksmith to the mat but Blacksmith just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dark Koleman dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Blacksmith throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Koleman moves into the clinch.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Koleman.
Blacksmith is trying to push Koleman away but Koleman has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Koleman tightens his grip and picks Blacksmith up, before dumping him to the ground. Blacksmith manages to land in guard.
Koleman wants to pass the guard but Blacksmith is keeping the position.
Blacksmith can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Koleman controls the pace.

Koleman controls from within his opponent's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Dark Koleman was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Koleman has Blacksmith up against the cage in a clinch.
Blacksmith has had enough of the clinch but Koleman keeps him there for the moment.

Koleman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Blacksmith keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.


It looks like Dark Koleman has been cut.
Koleman moves away from the strike by Blacksmith.
Koleman ducks under a wild hook from Blacksmith.
Blacksmith throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Koleman takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Blacksmith lands a slapping body shot.
No joy there for Blacksmith, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Blacksmith tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Koleman was well out of range. Poor timing from Blacksmith.
Koleman bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Koleman uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Blacksmith.
Bo Blacksmith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Blacksmith misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Koleman.
Koleman throws a low kick but Blacksmith moves out of range easily.

Koleman rushes Blacksmith and presses him up against the cage.
Koleman tries for a takedown. No joy.
Blacksmith looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Blacksmith gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Koleman.

Koleman tries to score a body lock takedown but Blacksmith shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Koleman gets in close and instigates a clinch.
The referee calls for Koleman to work.
Koleman can't get the takedown.

Koleman manages to break the clinch.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Koleman tries to clinch but Blacksmith is having none of it.

Blacksmith throws a shot from downtown. Koleman moves away and avoids it.
Blacksmith jabs Koleman right on the nose. Koleman blinks but takes it well.
Koleman slips a jab from Blacksmith.
Blacksmith thows a body shot but no joy.
Blacksmith looks to land a right hand but Koleman moved out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bo Blacksmith will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Dark Koleman's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Koleman misses with a low kick.
Blacksmith scores with a hook to the body. Koleman takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Koleman takes the fight into the clinch.
Blacksmith on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Koleman drops down looking for an ankle pick but Blacksmith pulls his leg out and moves away.

Koleman is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Blacksmith pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Blacksmith has had enough of the clinch but Koleman keeps him there for the moment.
Koleman keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Blacksmith's efforts to push away.
Koleman changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Blacksmith fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Koleman takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Blacksmith misses with a hook. Koleman ducked under it nicely.
Blacksmith takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Blacksmith throws a one two combo.
Koleman staying out of range there.
Koleman wants to clinch up but Blacksmith keeps it at a distance.
Koleman shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Koleman rushes Blacksmith and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Koleman keeps control of Blacksmith as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Blacksmith is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Blacksmith is trying to break free.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Koleman in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
Blacksmith wants to break the clinch but can't.

Blacksmith has had enough of the clinch but Koleman keeps him there for the moment.

Koleman is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Blacksmith gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Koleman is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Blacksmith!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Koleman controlling from mount.
Blacksmith stops Koleman from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bo Blacksmith showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Blacksmith has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
