Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kake Nyrkki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rans Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie has chosen Danger! High Voltage as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie circles away from the clinch attempt
and Gracie counters with a lovely straight right hand!

It looks like Kake Nyrkki has been cut.
Nyrkki throws a left and a right that both miss
letting Gracie counter with a right hand.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nyrkki as he avoids it easily.
Gracie will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That kick from Nyrkki tenderised Gracie's leg. Gracie is trying to keep his angry face on.
Gracie takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Nyrkki throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Gracie.

Gracie takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Nyrkki explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Nice straight punches there by Nyrkki. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Nyrkki.
No luck for Gracie with that takedown attempt.
Gracie fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Nyrkki avoids it really well and circles away.
Gracie has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Nyrkki.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gracie is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Nyrkki pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Nyrkki tries to land a front kick but Gracie steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Gracie takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Gracie jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nyrkki walks away with a smile on his face. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Nyrkki makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Nyrkki.

Gracie drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Nyrkki manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gracie has Nyrkki in his guard.
Nyrkki trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nyrkki forces Gracie back against the cage and clinches.
Gracie tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Nyrkki smiles and moves away.

Gracie feints and as Nyrkki raises his hands in defense, Gracie changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Gracie drops back, looking for a kneebar! Nyrkki looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Nyrkki looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Nyrkki!
Gracie manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Nyrkki wants to pass the guard but Gracie is defending well.

Gracie is looking to improve his position.
Nyrkki content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gracie wants to improve his position but Nyrkki is controlling well.
Nyrkki wants to free his trapped foot but Gracie is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Gracie is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Nyrkki will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Kake Nyrkki has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

so Gracie counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Gracie drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Nyrkki dives on top into guard.

Nyrkki decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gracie, up you get!
Nyrkki scores with a head kick. Gracie tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

The fight stays on the outside here - Nyrkki looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nyrkki sprawls well. Nyrkki wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet.

Rans Gracie has got the better of the ground game so far.
