PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rob McLovin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Jallow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McLovin comes to the cage accompanied by To Hell and Back. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rob McLovin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Jallow!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jallow swings for the body but McLovin moves out of range.
McLovin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Jallow fails with an attempt to clinch.
McLovin shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Jallow eats them both and turns towards McLovin to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
McLovin closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Jallow misses with a wild body shot.
Jallow fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
McLovin tries to land a front kick but Jallow steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
A jab from Jallow does it's job there.
McLovin fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Jallow.
Jallow cracks a nice hook into McLovin's ribs.
McLovin throws a nice inside leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jallow tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but McLovin was well out of range. Poor timing from Jallow.
McLovin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
McLovin looks to land a left hand but Jallow moved out of range nicely.
Jallow checks a leg kick.
McLovin throws a push kick but Jallow slaps the foot to one side.

Jallow walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Jallow slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Jallow rushes McLovin and presses him up against the cage.
McLovin lands a right hand that snaps the head of Jallow backwards.
Jallow fails to pull guard.
Jallow tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. McLovin smiles and moves away.
Jallow is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down McLovin rather than just go for the knockout.

Jallow is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
David Jallow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jallow moves in looking to clinch but McLovin pushes him off.

McLovin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Jallow fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McLovin manages to avoid it.
McLovin lands a glancing blow to the side of Jallow's head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nice uppercut lands for Jallow. That snapped McLovin's head back.

and McLovin counters with a crisp right hand that drops Jallow! McLovin lets Jallow back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Jallow tries to close the distance and clinch but McLovin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jallow seems to have recovered his senses.

McLovin lands a big head kick that sends Jallow tumbling to the mat! McLovin takes a step backwards and waves Jallow back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Jallow has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Jallow lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Jallow jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
McLovin attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Jallow uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from McLovin.
Jallow ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McLovin moves away.

Jallow stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Jallow slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
McLovin on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Jallow lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Jallow cracks a nice hook into McLovin's ribs.

Jallow throws the left hand but McLovin avoids the punch easily.

Jallow closes the distance and clinches.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

McLovin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A decent looking cross lands there for Jallow.

Jallow bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
McLovin goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
McLovin looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Jallow walks into a left hand.
Jallow on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Jallow is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! McLovin had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Jallow punishes McLovin's body with a nice straight punch.
Jallow moves out of range of the strikes.
Jallow lands a nice hook to McLovin's body. McLovin takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Jallow moves to clinch but McLovin breaks away
and McLovin counters with a one-two to the body.
McLovin is breathing heavily.
McLovin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jallow circles away quickly and effectively.
McLovin avoids a punch combination nicely.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Jallow wants to clinch.
McLovin throws a shot from downtown. Jallow moves away and avoids it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rob McLovin dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


The fight stays on the outside here - Jallow looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

McLovin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
McLovin wants to stand but Jallow has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Jallow is looking for a triangle but McLovin pushes his legs off easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Jallow has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McLovin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
McLovin thows a big elbow that misses.

McLovin wants to get up but he can't break Jallow's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Jallow has his foot on McLovin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McLovin works his way back into a safe position though.

McLovin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jallow has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McLovin has managed to get both his arms back between Jallow's legs - danger averted.

Jallow throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent McLovin stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Jallow working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McLovin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McLovin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
