PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alistar Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Maunone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maunone has chosen Motörhead - The Game as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Parker!
Parker throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Maunone shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Parker defends it nicely.
Parker throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Parker moves out of range of the body kick from Maunone.
Maunone tries to clinch but Parker is having none of it.

Parker takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Parker is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Maunone.

Maunone closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Parker to the mat! Parker manages to get full guard.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Maunone's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Parker avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Maunone looking to sit in guard and control but Parker gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Maunone pushes Parker off and scrambles back to his feet.

Maunone shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Parker as he avoids it easily.
Maunone swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Parker counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Parker lands with a nice body kick.
Alistar Parker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Maunone misses with a takedown attempt
and Parker counters with a series of strikes. Maunone will be more careful next time no doubt.
Alistar Parker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jan Maunone.

Parker looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Parker throws a nice looking combination but Maunone bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Maunone takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Parker throws a series of punches but Maunone moves out of range.

Maunone tries to clinch but Parker is having none of it.
Maunone's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Parker connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Maunone scrambles back to his feet.

and Parker counters with a stiff right hand.

Parker misses with a jab, cross combination.
Parker looks to throw a body kick

and Maunone counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Maunone has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Maunone trying to control the position from guard on top but Parker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Maunone throws a big right hand that misses.

Maunone drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Parker dives on top into guard.

Maunone escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Parker gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Maunone wants to stand but Parker is controlling the position.
Maunone controls Parker momentarily but Parker frees himself.
Parker content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Parker accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Maunone walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Maunone takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

and Parker counters with a body kick that stops Maunone in his tracks momentarily.

Maunone takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Parker takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Maunone is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Parker.

Maunone is rocked!
Parker lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Maunone backs up against the cage.
Maunone is still on wobbly legs! Can Parker finish him?
Parker throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Maunone crashing down! Maunone tries to stagger back to his feet but Parker just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Maunone asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.
