Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joey Jojo III (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Dwan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jojo III's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Joey Joe Joe Jr Shabadoo. Joey Jojo III has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joey Jojo III!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tom Dwan!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Bruno Lombardi and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dwan throws a head kick but Jojo III moves out of range.
Jojo III throws a head kick that misses

and Dwan counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Dwan content to stall in guard here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dwan would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Tom Dwan has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Dwan closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jojo III quickly recovers to half guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tom Dwan hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Dwan takes the fight into the clinch.

Jojo III breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Dwan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Dwan is trying to control the position but Jojo III postures up.

Jojo III got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dwan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jojo III has managed to get both his arms back between Dwan's legs - danger averted.

Dwan has an active guard here but Jojo III has managed to pass into half guard.
Jojo III is just content to waste time from the top position. Dwan takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jojo III accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Jojo III is looking to take a break and control but Dwan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Dwan makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Dwan.

Dwan is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Jojo III loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Jojo III postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Dwan is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jojo III, into his guard.

Jojo III is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Dwan wants to control but Jojo III is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Dwan is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Jojo III is looking to advance position but Dwan has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Jojo III is desperately trying to improve his position but Dwan has a good base and remains in mount.

Dwan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Tom Dwan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Jojo III's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Jojo III moves in looking to clinch but Dwan pushes him off.

Jojo III wants to improve his position but Dwan is controlling well.
Dwan is nestled in close to Jojo III, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Dwan looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Dwan frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Dwan tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Dwan's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Dwan jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Jojo III manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Tom Dwan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Dwan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
