Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Tonkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buddy Love (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tonkin comes to the cage accompanied by Hammer Time. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Love drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Tonkin strikes from the bottom but Love takes advantage and advances to full mount!
Love sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Love should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Tonkin blocking the ground and pound.
Love looking to control and managing it successfully.
Love's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Tonkin tries to lock up and control but Love gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Tonkin is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Love looking to ground and pound but Tonkin is blocking nicely.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Love has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
I looks like Love might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Buddy Love was stalling too much, according to the referee.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tonkin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Love looks to land a body kick but Tonkin moved away.
Love wants to clinch up but Tonkin keeps it at a distance.

and Love counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Tonkin is trying to get back to full guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Love in particular looking to stall.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Buddy Love was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Love scores a takedown into full mount!

Tonkin sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Tonkin is breathing heavily.
Love is controlling the pace.
Love missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Buddy Love dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Tonkin lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

It looks like Buddy Love has been cut.
Tonkin connects with a body shot that sends Love's belly button to the back.
Love is looking to clinch but Tonkin is avoiding it.
Love walks into a left hand.
Tonkin fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Love has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Tonkin lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Love is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Tonkin.
Love seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Tonkin shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Love is backing up but Tonkin catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Love covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Tonkin Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
