Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonas Karlberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimi Patrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Patrick has chosen Dropkick Murphys - I'm Shipping Up to Boston as his entrance music. Jonas Karlberg has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of London, Jonas Karlberg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimi Patrick!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Richard Clark and Daniel Bishop.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karlberg throws a jab but it's blocked by Patrick.
Karlberg misses with a double jab.
Karlberg swats away the attempt to clinch by Patrick.
Patrick just misses with a punch to the body.
Patrick is looking to clinch.
Patrick lands with a nice body punch.
Patrick fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Karlberg manages to avoid it.
Karlberg slips under a jab from Patrick.
Karlberg comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Patrick lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Karlberg circles away quickly and effectively.
Patrick fails to land with a series of punches.
Patrick fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Karlberg throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Karlberg shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Patrick's guard.

Karlberg postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Patrick is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Karlberg, into his guard.
Patrick wants to get up but he can't break Karlberg's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Patrick drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Patrick jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Karlberg stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Patrick swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Karlberg stands up and waves to Patrick to follow him.

Patrick displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Karlberg throws out the jab.
Patrick tries to close the distance and clinch up but Karlberg swats him away and circles back towards the center.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Patrick misses with a few strikes there.

Karlberg shoots in and bounces Patrick off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Patrick got a little sloppy there for a moment and Karlberg has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Patrick has managed to get both his arms back between Karlberg's legs - danger averted.

Karlberg pushes Patrick off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Patrick uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Karlberg has time to react.

Karlberg shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Karlberg lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Patrick looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Karlberg! Submission of the night perhaps?
