Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Isac Newton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buck Buckleford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Newton comes to the ring accompanied by Diablo - The Preacher. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Newton closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Buckleford prevents Newton from improving position.
Buckleford is looking for a sweep.
Buckleford tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Newton easily slips into full mount!

Newton is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Buckleford is surviving well by controlling Newton's body position as best he can.
Buckleford really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Newton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Newton wants to stand but Buckleford is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.

Newton is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Buckleford has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Newton won't let Buckleford get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Newton avoids the attempt from Buckleford to control.
Newton is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Newton stands up from mount. Strange move.
Newton tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Buckleford paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Buckleford fails to land with a series of punches.
Newton fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Buckleford clinches up with Newton and pushes him back against the ropes.

Buckleford breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Buckleford shoots in but Newton avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Buckleford is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Newton.

Newton wants to clinch but Buckleford slips to the side
and Buckleford connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Newton feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Newton is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Newton tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Buckleford paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Buckleford shoots in and drives through. Newton sprawls well.
Buckleford circles away from the clinch attempt.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Newton looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and Newton counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Newton throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Buckleford has taken the fight to the clinch.
Newton tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Buckleford smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Isac Newton. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Buckleford has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Newton is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Newton has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Buckleford uses from the top position.

Newton is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Buckleford frees his head nicely. Oh but Newton has switched to an armbar! Buckleford is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
