PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Takakumi Sutiaa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glenn Galloway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Galloway shoots in but no luck this time.
The crowd cheers as Galloway lands an impressive looking overhand right. Sutiaa doesn't seem phased though.
Sutiaa jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Sutiaa will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Galloway throws a right and a left that both miss.
Galloway is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Galloway misses with a series of wild punches.
Galloway misses with a low kick.
Galloway moves out of range of the strikes.
A choreographed right hand from Sutiaa misses the target.
Sutiaa misses with a hook

and Galloway counters with a single leg into guard. Sutiaa didn't expect that.
Galloway passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Sutiaa might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Sutiaa is breathing heavily.
Sutiaa tries to buck Galloway off but Galloway is having none of it.

Galloway decides to stand up, so the ref orders Sutiaa to his feet.
Sutiaa stuffs the takedown.
Galloway tries to clinch up.
Sutiaa misses with a right hand
and Galloway counters with a straight right hand.
Galloway checks a low kick from Sutiaa.
Sutiaa slips a jab from Galloway.

Sutiaa has managed to clinch.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Sutiaa.
Sutiaa tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Galloway smiles and moves away.
Sutiaa throws a low kick, looking for Galloway's leg but Galloway calmly moves out of range.
Sutiaa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Galloway's waist but Galloway gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sutiaa off to one side.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Galloway, as that shot connected.

Sutiaa shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Galloway keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Sutiaa looking to control but Galloway is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Galloway is desperately trying to improve his position but Sutiaa has a good base and remains in mount.
Sutiaa moves to back control.
Sutiaa wants to control but Galloway is keeping busy.
Galloway tries to roll but Sutiaa sticks to his back.
Sutiaa is looking to control Galloway but Galloway is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Sutiaa not allowing Galloway to control his hands.
Sutiaa is trying to stick to Galloway's back but Galloway is turning into Sutiaa. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Sutiaa's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Galloway.
Galloway passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Galloway is looking to take a break and control but Sutiaa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Galloway has hold of Sutiaa's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Sutiaa tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Galloway cranks the arm and Sutiaa screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Sutiaa, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
