The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
wyatt has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from wyatt there as he acknowledges the shot.
Washington lunges at wyatt with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by wyatt's hand.
Washington stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Washington feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits wyatts jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

wyatt bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Washington dodges the ground and pound from wyatt.

wyatt has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

wyatt goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Washington is on top in guard.
wyatt wants to control but Washington passes easily into half guard.

Washington wants to get back to his feet.
wyatt manages to get to full guard.
Washington must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

wyatt throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Washington escapes and throws wyatt's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Washington wants to stand but wyatt has his arm trapped.

Washington really doesn't want to stay on the ground with wyatt. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Washington wants to stand but wyatt is controlling his arm.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

wyatt shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Washington pinned against the cage. Washington gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Horrible takedown by wyatt or perhaps it was just good defense by Washington which made him look bad.
Washington stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Washington wants it to stay on the feet.
