Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kendall Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sweeney Todd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Todd has chosen Never Forget, Never Forgive.. as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Kendall Alves has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!

With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kendall Alves!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sweeney Todd!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body punch from Todd.

Alves fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Todd sprawls well initially but Alves persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Alves wants to lay and pray for a moment but Todd keeps working.
Alves throwing shots but Todd is blocking nicely.
Alves has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The fighters are battling for position here. Todd manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Alves working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Todd doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Todd manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Alves has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Todd is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Alves.

Todd really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alves. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
You can see the frustration on Alves's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That was a close round but I would say that Kendall Alves will probably get the nod.
