The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Aomi looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lionel Lowe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Aomi tries to clinch up but Lowe circles away and keeps his distance.

Aomi drops back looking for a leg! Lowe is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lowe manages to kick Aomi off! Aomi jumps back into Lowe's guard.

Lowe pushes Aomi away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Aomi gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Aomi has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Lowe is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Aomi yanks on the arm and Lowe is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Aomi.
