Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Handy Ganon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wilby Champion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wilby Champion has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Handy Ganon's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Handy Ganon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wilby Champion!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ganon is looking to chop away at Champion's legs.
Ganon throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Ganon throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Ganon tries to score with a low kick but Champion moves his leg out of the way.
Champion lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Ganon scores with a takedown into Champion's guard.
Ganon sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Ganon postures up.
Champion throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Ganon stays in close to Champion's body and controls the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ganon seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Champion for as long as he can get away with.
Champion is looking to stand up but Ganon isn't so interested in that idea.
Champion is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Ganon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Ganon has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ganon is pressing down on Champion's thigh, looking to free his foot. Champion is holding on for now.
Champion gets back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ganon moves out of range of the body kick.
Champion tries to close the distance and clinch but Ganon swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Champion misses with a two punch combination.
Ganon throws a low kick but it's checked well by Champion.
Champion fails to land with a series of punches.

Champion shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ganon's guard.
Ganon controls Champion momentarily but Champion frees himself.

Champion might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ganon kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Ganon seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Champion trying to control the position from guard on top but Ganon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Champion throws a big right hand that misses.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Ganon misses with a body kick.
Champion doesn't manage to clinch there - Ganon circles away.
Ganon keeps the fight on the outside.

Ganon fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Champion sprawls well initially but Ganon persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Champion is breathing heavily.
Ganon is taking a breather. Champion says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Champion has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ganon is working away from the top position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ganon is taking a breather. Champion says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Champion wants to get back to full guard but Ganon has passed into side control.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ganon lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

The fight stays on the outside here - Champion looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Champion misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ganon avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Champion tries to stall but Ganon uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Champion is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Ganon goes for a takedown attempt but Champion pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Champion checks a leg kick.
Champion lands a head kick. Ganon smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Wilby Champion is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ganon misses with a leg kick.

Ganon throws a looping overhand right but Champion ducks down to avoid it.
Champion moves out of range of the body kick.
Ganon tries to work over Champion's front leg with a kick but Champion checks it.
Wilby Champion seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Champion fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

and Ganon counters with a takedown into side control.

Champion tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ganon wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Ganon content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Ganon decides to stand up, so the ref orders Champion to his feet.
Ganon throws a leg kick that misses.
Ganon fails with a takedown attempt.

Champion tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Ganon counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ganon.
Wilby Champion has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ganon, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
