The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
shanks tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but XHTC swivels and escapes.
Some wild striking there from shanks.
XHTC is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
XHTC tries to clinch up.
XHTC scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
shanks tries to improve position but can't.
XHTC tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
shanks can't do much from the bottom here.
XHTC is looking to take a break and control but shanks is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
XHTC works to advance to full mount. shanks defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
XHTC is working for a guillotine from mount but shanks frees his head quite easily.

He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. shanks turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips XHTC off and cradles shanks's limp body as XHTC celebrates with his corner.
