The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

msalek tries to sprawl but Voorhees drives through with a takedown into half guard.
msalek is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Voorhees scores with a couple of nice shots.
msalek makes his way to full guard. A much better position for msalek.
Voorhees looking to sit in guard and control but msalek gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
msalek won't allow Voorhees to sweep him here.
msalek tries to free his leg and advance position but Voorhees is retaining full guard.

Voorhees really doesn't want to stay on the ground with msalek. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

msalek is pushing down on Voorhees's leg trying to pass to half guard. Voorhees is fighting to maintain full guard but msalek has managed to sneak the leg through.

msalek is looking for a kimura but Voorhees is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for msalek to get the leverage.
Voorhees has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. msalek is working away from the top position though.
msalek works his way into full mount!

msalek wants to finish this one by submission but Voorhees is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from msalek.
Voorhees is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Voorhees holds on to msalek as tight as he can, avoiding damage.

msalek is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Voorhees can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
