PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ken Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johny Pudzian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pudzian is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Toony - Los (Feat. Pih & Fabuła). Johny Pudzian will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ken Adams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 17 - 0, fighting out of London, Johny Pudzian!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Daniel Bishop and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good standup being displayed there by Pudzian as he connects with a hook.
Pudzian tries to close the distance and clinch but Adams swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Pudzian throws a head kick but Adams moves out of range.
Pudzian tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Adams manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Pudzian doesn't manage to clinch there - Adams circles away.
Pudzian is trying hard to land a takedown here. Adams sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Adams swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Pudzian wants to clinch up but Adams keeps it at a distance.
Pudzian closes the distance and clinches up with Adams, looking for a takedown. Pudzian pushes Adams against the cage but Adams circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Adams rushes Pudzian and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Pudzian is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
A bit of stalling here from Adams.
Adams pushes Pudzian back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Pudzian can't get the takedown.
Ken Adams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johny Pudzian.

Pudzian has Adams pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Adams manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Adams pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Pudzian doesn't manage to clinch there - Adams circles away.
Pudzian takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Pudzian dives in and grabs Adams's left leg, looking for a takedown. Adams pushes down on Pudzian's head and hops out.

and Adams counters with a good, hard body kick but Pudzian shrugs it off.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Adams wanted to stand there but Pudzian had control of the position.

Adams makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Adams stands up from Pudzian's guard - Adams perhaps looking for a knockout.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Adams is staying tight to Pudzian's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Adams decides to stand back up.

Adams shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Adams slips nicely into half guard.
Adams with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Adams working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Pudzian tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Adams is landing with some decent strikes but Pudzian is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Pudzian is looking to improve his position but Adams isn't that keen on the idea.

Adams can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pudzian is looking to escape.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Adams closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Pudzian tries to bench press Adams off him but Adams keeps the position.

Pudzian is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Ken Adams overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Adams cracks Pudzian with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Pudzian tries to escape the position.
Pudzian is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Adams looking to break Pudzian's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Pudzian remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Adams will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Pudzian wants to free his trapped foot but Adams is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Adams has one foot on Pudzian's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Adams looks to score with a jab to the body but Pudzian is just out of range.
Pudzian's corner calls for a 1-2. Pudzian obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

and Adams counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Pudzian's guard now.

Adams is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Pudzian has taken his back.

Pudzian thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

Adams manages to reverse the position and now he's in Pudzian's guard. Nice work there by Adams.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pudzian tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Adams wants to control from the top but Pudzian keeps moving.
Pudzian is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Johny Pudzian has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Adams regains full guard. Nicely done.
Adams is trying to control the position but Pudzian postures up.

Pudzian lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Ken Adams is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Pudzian is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Well Adams has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
