Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tito Ortiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tito Ortiz!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Patrick Alders and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Liddell.

Liddell thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ortiz can do anything to dispel that myth.

Liddell has control of Ortiz's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Ortiz regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Liddell is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Ortiz is surviving well by controlling Liddell's body position as best he can.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Liddell jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Ortiz is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Ortiz and Liddell has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Liddell has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Ortiz on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

No joy there for Liddell, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Liddell will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Liddell jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Liddell throws a series of strikes that have Ortiz backpedaling.
Chuck Liddell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Liddell lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Liddell fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ortiz looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Liddell lands a brutal head kick. Ortiz looks out on his feet and Liddell throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
