Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mick Drury (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mick Drury!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Clark!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drury misses with a shot to the body

and Clark decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Drury's guard.
Drury bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Clark's guard.

Drury drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Drury jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Drury throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Clark works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Drury stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Clark swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Drury throwing strikes but missing.
Drury loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Drury with a flurry of punches that miss.
Clark looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Drury thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Drury throwing strikes but missing.
Clark really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Drury. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Drury thows a big elbow that misses.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Drury trying to control the position from guard on top but Clark is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Drury passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Drury looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Clark is avoiding damage well.
Clark is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Clark prevents Drury from moving into mount.

Drury tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Drury tries to pass to full mount but Clark defends it.
Drury not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Drury passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Clark!

Drury postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Clark looks a forlorn figure.

Drury goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Clark is on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mick Drury will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Clark throws a looping overhand right but Drury ducks down to avoid it.
Drury moves out of range of the leg kick from Clark.
Drury looks to throw the jab but Clark is out of range.
Clark misses with a few strikes there.

Drury looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Drury throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Clark is defending against the submission attempts here by Drury.
Drury seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Clark does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Drury thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Drury working Clark over with strikes.

Drury is trying to work for a kimura but Clark is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Drury not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Drury working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Drury is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Drury moves into full mount! Clark won't be happy about that!
Mick Drury overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Clark blocking the ground and pound.
Drury throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Clark is working to get back to half guard.
Drury sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Drury looking to finish with strikes here!

Drury is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Clark has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Clark is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Drury trying to control but Clark is having none of it.
Drury lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Clark hang on?

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Drury loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Clark scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Drury land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Drury stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mick Drury!
