PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Casper Orion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Quattro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Orion throws a head kick that misses

and Quattro counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Quattro.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Quattro counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Quattro is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Orion escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Quattro gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Orion working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Quattro doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Quattro manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Quattro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Orion swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Orion is pushing Quattro's head away, looking to escape. Quattro manages to hold on to the position though.

Quattro wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Orion, who protects the arm well.
Orion is looking to regain half guard here but Quattro keeps moving and retains side control.
Quattro in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

and Quattro counters with a nice double leg into side control. Orion won't be happy with that.

Johnny Quattro showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Johnny Quattro is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Orion pulls Quattro in close to his closed guard and prevents Quattro from doing any damage or advancing position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Johnny Quattro wasn't active enough on the ground.
A looping hook to the body misses from Orion. Quattro does a little dance to reset his feet.

Well Quattro has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
