Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paul Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ogun Zepkirk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carter's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, MMA highlights 2010. Zepkirk has chosen Andreas Tilliander - Back to the USA as his entrance music. Ogun Zepkirk has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paul Carter!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ogun Zepkirk!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zepkirk throws a body kick that misses.
Carter fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
A telegraphed right hand from Zepkirk misses the target.
Zepkirk lands a right hook to the body.
Carter takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Zepkirk fails with an attempt to clinch.
A cross from Carter lands.

Carter drives through with a takedown into guard.
Carter advances to half guard.
Carter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zepkirk keeps working.

Zepkirk is defending against the submission attempts here by Carter.
Carter tries to pass the half guard into mount. Zepkirk knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Zepkirk regains full guard. Nicely done.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Zepkirk is trying to hold Carter in close to prevent damage but Carter has managed to pass into half guard.

Zepkirk wants to control but Carter is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Zepkirk is trying to get back to full guard.
Zepkirk is looking to control Carter's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Zepkirk avoid being mounted?

Zepkirk is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Carter stopping the sweep attempt from Zepkirk.

Carter drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Carter jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Zepkirk working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Carter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Carter manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Zepkirk looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Zepkirk isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Carter stacks Zepkirk on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Carter!
Carter slows the pace down.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Carter tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Carter has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Zepkirk is not content to let Carter control the position.

Zepkirk tries to bench press Carter off him but Carter keeps the position.
Carter is looking to take a break and control but Zepkirk is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Carter is trying to get an arm triangle but Zepkirk is defending well.

Carter cracks Zepkirk with a big elbow.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Zepkirk is trying to control Carter's posture but Carter avoids it.
Zepkirk is trying to get back to half guard.
Zepkirk prevents Carter from moving into mount.
Zepkirk manages to work his way to half guard, despite Carter's best efforts.
Carter frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Carter working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
The referee warns Zepkirk that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Zepkirk tries to hold on but Carter postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Carter dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Zepkirk misses with a looping left.
Carter shoots in for a takedown but Zepkirk shows good takedown defense.
Carter tries to bum rush Zepkirk with a series of wild strikes but Zepkirk uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
The crowd cheers as Carter lands an impressive looking overhand right. Zepkirk doesn't seem phased though.
Nice jab there from Carter.
No joy there for Carter, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Paul Carter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Carter lands a jab to Zepkirk's midsection.
Carter connects with a right hand. Zepkirk shakes it off.
Nice uppercut lands for Zepkirk. That snapped Carter's head back.


It looks like Paul Carter has been cut.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Zepkirk throws a nice looking combination but Carter bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Zepkirk, right into the meat.
Carter misses with a hook

and Zepkirk moves into the clinch.
Carter wants to get back to striking at distance but Zepkirk won't allow it.
Zepkirk lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Carter fails to pull guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Zepkirk is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Carter can't fight it off and eventually Zepkirk manages to take the fight to the floor. Carter looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Zepkirk throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Carter works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Zepkirk decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Zepkirk slips under a jab from Carter.
Zepkirk avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Zepkirk misses with a low kick.

Zepkirk drops Carter with a beautiful combination! Carter stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Zepkirk is looking for the KO!


Carter is rocked!
Zepkirk is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Carter flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Carter is out cold! Zepkirk holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ogun Zepkirk!
