PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Timaogh Uggla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and andy toole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). andy toole told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Timaogh Uggla!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, andy toole!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uggla fails in his attempt to clinch.
toole closes the distance and clinches up with Uggla, looking for a takedown. toole pushes Uggla against the cage but Uggla circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Uggla is looking to clinch but toole is avoiding it.
Uggla knocks toole to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?

It looks like andy toole has been cut.
toole tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Uggla wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
toole is still in real trouble! Can Uggla finish him?
Uggla cracks toole with a big elbow.
toole is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Uggla asserts his dominance and retains side control.
toole takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

toole seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Uggla does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Uggla had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. toole is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Uggla Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take toole's back instead.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

toole's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

toole lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Uggla backs up against the cage.
toole will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
No joy there for toole, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Uggla throws an uppercut from half a mile away. toole sees it coming and avoids it easily.
toole connects with a high kick.
A left and a right from toole both land. Nice combination.
toole lands with a right that hurts Uggla. Uggla looks to clinch but toole throws a short knee that drops Uggla. This one is all over!
