Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Peter Files (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jahangir Hooshmand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hooshmand fails with the takedown

and Files counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Files postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hooshmand is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Files, into his guard.

Hooshmand drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hooshmand jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Files keeping moving, preventing Hooshmand from controlling successfully.
Hooshmand is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Hooshmand thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Files lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hooshmand!
Files moves to the back.

Files is trying to stick to Hooshmand's back but Hooshmand is turning into Files. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Files's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Hooshmand.
Hooshmand stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Files swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hooshmand is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Files is looking for a triangle but Hooshmand pushes his legs off easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Hooshmand drops back looking for a leg! Files is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Files manages to kick Hooshmand off! Hooshmand jumps back into Files's guard.

Files throws his legs up looking for a submission but Hooshmand uses it to pass to side control.
Files is not content to let Hooshmand control the position.

Hooshmand is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Files is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Hooshmand tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Hooshmand has an Americana. Files didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Hooshmand is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Hooshmand hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
