Daddy's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, For whom the bell tolls. Big Daddy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Daddy sprawls well. Daddy wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Machida gets slowly back to his feet.

and Machida counters by clinching up.
Machida swings wildly with an uppercut but Daddy uses good head movement to avoid it.
Machida tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Daddy just stands there and leans against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Machida takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Machida wants to break the clinch but can't.

Daddy lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Machida flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Still in half guard, Daddy seems content to control.
Machida throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Daddy seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Machida pushes Daddy off looking to stand but Daddy dives back in and keeps control.
Machida wants to control but Daddy is keeping busy.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Daddy works his way into full mount!
Machida flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Daddy manages to capitalize on a mistake by Machida to take his back!
