Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcelo Carvalho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carvalho comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Vida Bandida kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carvalho shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Silva counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Silva.

Silva avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Carvalho holds on and takes a little breather.
Silva has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Let's hope that Carvalho has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Marcelo Carvalho hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Carvalho takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Carvalho closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Silva to the mat! Silva manages to get full guard.

Carvalho postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Silva is working an open guard so Carvalho takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Silva turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Carvalho off and cradles Silva's limp body as Carvalho celebrates with his corner.
