The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Monkey changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Chastokol looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Chastokol throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Xavier Monkey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Chastokol throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Monkey tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Chastokol is in Monkey's guard.
Chastokol controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Chastokol stands and steps away. Monkey gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Monkey tries to close the distance and clinch up but Chastokol swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Monkey scores with a takedown into Chastokol's guard.
Monkey looks gassed!

Chastokol has his foot on Monkey's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Monkey works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Monkey got a little sloppy there for a moment and Chastokol has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Monkey has managed to get both his arms back between Chastokol's legs - danger averted.

Chastokol looking for a triangle here. Monkey is fighting it but it looks tight! Chastokol pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Monkey is tapping out - this one is all over!
