Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brian Carver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, CJ Riley!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Leandro Rodrigues and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riley misses with a body shot.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Carver, as that shot connected.
Riley looks to score with a jab to the body but Carver is just out of range.
Carver misses with an uppercut

and Riley counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Riley trying to move into half guard but instead Carver has managed to sweep!
Carver wants to control from the top but Riley keeps moving.
Carver sitting in guard here, content to control.
Riley wants to sweep here but Carver controlling him for the moment.

Carver trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Riley is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Brian Carver just wasn't active enough.
Carver avoids the body shot from Riley.
Carver rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Riley moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Riley keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Carver connects with a single shot there.
Carver cracks a nice hook into Riley's ribs.
Carver throws a hook but Riley avoids it easily.
Carver slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

and Riley counters with a low kick, right behind Carver 's knee.

The fighters circle momentarily. Riley darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Riley throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Riley shoots in for a takedown but Carver shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Carver misses with an uppercut
and Riley counters with a low kick, right behind Carver 's knee.
Carver throws a body punch but Riley moves out of range.
Carver throws a lazy right hand but Riley sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Carver swings widly with a right hand
letting Riley counter with a right hand.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Carver misses with the combination.
Carver throws a right and a left that both miss.
Riley misses with a body punch
and Carver counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Carver throws an overhand right that lands on Riley's shoulder, as Riley tries to avoid the shot.
Riley lunges at Carver with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Carver's hand.
A big left from Riley misses.
Carver lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Riley backs up against the cage.
Riley is looking to clinch.
Carver takes a swing at Riley's ribcage but misses.
Riley with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Carver to score with a decent uppercut.
Riley throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Carver throws an off balance right hand
and Riley counters with a head kick.
Riley takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Carver misses with a series of wild punches.
Carver throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Riley counters with a nice leg kick.
Carver misses with a left hand
letting Riley counter with a right hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

CJ Riley dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Riley takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Carver throws out a loose jab but Riley uses good head movement to avoid it.
Riley tries to bum rush Carver with a series of wild strikes but Carver uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Riley swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Carver throws an off balance right hand
and Riley counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Riley fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Carver checks it well.
Carver leaves Riley with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Carver misses with a lunging right hand
and Riley counters with a nice body kick.
Carver swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Riley.
Riley tries to clinch up.
Riley takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Riley tried to score with a low kick but Carver checks it.
Riley lands with a right hand.
Carver tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Riley was well out of range. Poor timing from Carver.

and Riley makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Carver takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Carver throws a poor cross that misses
and Riley counters with a stiff right hand.
Riley takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Carver misses with a looping right.
Riley throws a leg kick but Carver checks it.
Carver cracks Riley with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Carver avoids a kick to the body.
Riley throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Riley clinches up with Carver and pushes him back against the cage.
Riley lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Carver swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Riley dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Riley lands with a right to the head.
Carver lands a shot to the body.
Carver wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Carver breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Riley avoids the body shot from Carver.
Riley throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Riley just misses with a punch to the body.

Carver throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Riley.

and Riley counters with a nice leg kick.

Carver rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Riley moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Riley stuns Carver with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Riley bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Riley cracks Carver with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Carver looks to land a right hand but Riley moved out of range.

and Riley counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Carver throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Riley counters with a stiff right hand.
Carver throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Carver throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Riley sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Carver lands a glancing blow to the side of Riley's head.
Carver on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Riley. Riley obviously looking to wear him down.
Carver jabs Riley to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Carver thows a body shot but no joy.

Carver swings widly with a right hand
letting Riley counter with a right hand.
Riley scoring well with a low kick there.
No joy there for Carver, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Riley throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Carver was covering up waiting for the punch and Riley finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Riley slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Riley wants to control from the top but Carver keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

CJ Riley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Carver throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Riley decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Carver's guard.
Riley postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Riley looking to sit in guard and control but Carver gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Riley is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Riley being controlled here, momentarily.
Riley trying to keep a closed guard but Carver is proving a slippery customer.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Carver wants to stand but Riley is controlling his posture from full guard.

Riley working for a triangle but Carver defends it easily.

Carver won't allow Riley to sweep him here.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Riley has his hands on Carver's head, controlling the position.
Brian Carver has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
CJ Riley is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Carver postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

And that's the end of the fight!
CJ Riley comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Riley has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
