Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Shoryu Ken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis has chosen Sick Puppies-Youre going down as his entrance music. Shoryu Ken has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Shoryu Ken!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Phil Davis!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Alexandre Firmino and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ken circles away quickly and effectively.
Ken ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Davis moves away.
Davis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ken tries to avoid it but Davis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ken to the ground. Ken escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ken scores with a jab to the head.
Davis shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ken but Ken pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Davis misses with a hook
and Ken counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Davis looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Davis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Davis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Davis cracks Ken with a solid left hand.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ken is on top in guard.

Davis shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ken is trying to defend but Davis finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
