The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poehler wants to clinch but Johannson slips to the side

and Johannson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Johannson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Johannson lands a nice hook to Poehler's body. Poehler takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Johannson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Johannson lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Johannson stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

and Johannson counters with a good low kick that Poehler was not able to check.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Johannson closes the distance and clinches up with Poehler, looking for a takedown. Johannson pushes Poehler against the cage but Poehler circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Poehler moves forwards but Johannson connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Johannson looks to score with a jab to the body but Poehler is just out of range.

and Johannson counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Poehler is lucky that one didn't land flush.
