Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fedor Emelianenko !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Junkyard Dog!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Illya Tyunina and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dog throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dog closes the distance but Emelianenko moves to the side

and Emelianenko counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Dog's guard now.
Emelianenko trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Emelianenko is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Dog wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Emelianenko is now in half guard.

Emelianenko is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Emelianenko is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dog wants to improve his position but Emelianenko is controlling well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Dog is staying active underneath Emelianenko , who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Fedor Emelianenko wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Dog throws a right hand that Emelianenko ducks under and follows up with a left that Emelianenko also avoids with ease.

Emelianenko uses his free foot to push down on Dog's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Dog.
Dog really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Emelianenko . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Emelianenko lands a big shot there that rocks Dog but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Emelianenko feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
