The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shitler tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
No joy there for Jones, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jones throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Shitler counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Jones is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Shitler shoots in looking for a takedown. Jones tries to sprawl out of it but Shitler keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jones manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Shitler sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jones's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Shitler stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Jones follows into mount!

Jones wants to take Shitler's back here but Shitler is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

Jones goes for an armbar but Shitler turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Shitler.
Shitler seems to have recovered his senses.
Jones is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Shitler wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.
Shitler throws and elbow that misses. Jones uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Shitler's guard. Nice move by Jones!

Jones is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Shitler is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Shitler has escaped and now he's on top!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
