PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Noke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reggie Bear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Noke comes to the cage accompanied by Animal. Reggie Bear told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kyle Noke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Reggie Bear!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Noke misses with a right hand

and Bear decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Noke's guard.
Noke on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Noke tries to get out of the position.
Bear throws a strike but Noke rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Bear pushes Noke off and scrambles back to his feet.
Bear lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
A big right from Noke misses.
Bear takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Noke throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Bear lands a right hook to the body.
Nice uppercut lands for Noke. That snapped Bear's head back.
Noke walks into a stiff left hand from Bear.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bear shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Noke sprawls well. Noke wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bear gets slowly back to his feet.
Bear throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Noke to counter with a crisp jab.
Bear avoids the body shot from Noke.
Bear takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Kyle Noke is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bear falls off balance throwing a combination
and Noke counters with a left to the body.
Noke lands with an uppercut that bounces Bear off the cage and back into rage.
Bear slips a jab and a cross from Noke.
Bear throws a series of punches but Noke avoids them all with ease.
A nice combination there by Bear.
Bear looks to throw the jab but Noke is out of range.
Noke closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Bear takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Bear misses with a wild body shot.
Bear tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Noke swivels and escapes.
A left and a right from Bear both land. Nice combination.
Noke throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Bear misses with a jab to the body
and Bear takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Noke swings for the body but Bear moves out of range.
Bear throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Noke counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Noke throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Bear on the side of the head.
Noke misses with a body shot.
Noke scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Noke swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Noke scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Noke takes a swing at Bear's ribcage but misses.
Bear shoots for a takedown but Noke saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kyle Noke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Reggie Bear.

A looping hook to the body misses from Bear. Noke does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Bear takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Bear throws a left and a right that both miss
and Noke counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Noke scores with a hook.
Bear falls off balance throwing a combination
and Noke connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Sloppy strikes from Noke. Those never looked like landing.
Bear throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Noke's waist but Noke gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bear off to one side.
Bear on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Bear lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bear looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Noke is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Bear misses with a body shot
and Noke counters with a series of strikes. Bear will be more careful next time no doubt.
Bear is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Noke rather than just go for the knockout.

Bear scores with a one two! Noke had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

and Noke makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Bear takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Bear tries to score a power double leg takedown but Noke sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bear somewhat.

Noke moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Noke connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Bear misses with a lunging right hand
and Noke counters with a right hand to the body.

and Noke counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Noke utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Bear thows a big elbow that misses.
Bear lands a couple of elbows.
Noke is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bear is controlling him.
Noke knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bear on the ground.
Bear tries to free his leg and advance position but Noke is retaining full guard.
Bear cracks Noke with a solid left hand.
Bear postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Bear stays in close to Noke's body and controls the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Reggie Bear showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Bear shoots for a double leg takedown but Noke sprawls well. He's pushed Bear's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Bear looks to land a combination. Noke sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Noke fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bear manages to avoid it.

and Noke counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
The fighters circling - Noke throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Noke takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Bear wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Bear moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Bear thuds his right hand into Noke's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Noke throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Bear counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

And that's the end of the fight!
Reggie Bear comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Bear winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
