Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alistair Armageddon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dale English (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alistair Armageddon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dale English!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Mauricio Rocha and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Armageddon takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
English uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Armageddon.
Dale English seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Armageddon throws a series of punches but English moves out of range.
English throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Armageddon.
English throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Armageddon counters with a low kick, right behind English 's knee.
English fails with the takedown

and Armageddon counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Armageddon wants to pass the guard but English is defending well.
Armageddon seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
English is looking to control Armageddon's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can English avoid being mounted?

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Armageddon seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down English for as long as he can get away with.
English is looking for a sweep. Armageddon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

English tried to score with a low kick but Armageddon checks it.
Armageddon throws a chopping leg kick but English manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Armageddon throws a nice looking combination but English bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

English scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
English moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Alistair Armageddon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dale English.

English manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
English looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
English blocks a head kick by Armageddon.
Armageddon looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? English is fending him off so far but Armageddon persists. Nope, English circles away and we're back to standing.
Armageddon is breathing heavily.
Armageddon tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Armageddon throws a right hand that English ducks under and follows up with a left that English also avoids with ease.
English wants to clinch but Armageddon slips to the side
and Armageddon counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
English's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and English duly obliges.
English tries for a takedown but Armageddon circles away easily
and Armageddon counters with a nice body kick.
English doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Armageddon counters with a nice double leg into side control. English won't be happy with that.

Armageddon wants to control but English is keeping him busy.
English is trying to improve his position.
English wants to control but Armageddon postures up.
Armageddon throwing strikes but English manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
You can see the frustration on Armageddon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

English tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no English has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
English wants to control but Armageddon is keeping him busy.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
English works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
English with the ground and pound but Armageddon regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
English looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
English passes the guard and advances to mount!
A nice elbow there by English.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alistair Armageddon dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

so Armageddon counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
English controls Armageddon momentarily but Armageddon frees himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

English has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Armageddon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

English wants to get back to his feet but Armageddon is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Armageddon is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Alistair Armageddon just wasn't active enough.
English misses with a takedown attempt

and Armageddon counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in English's guard now.
Armageddon pushes down on English's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
English is trying to get back to full guard.
English has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Armageddon is working away from the top position though.
Armageddon throws a strike but English avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Armageddon has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

English is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

English is looking to regain half guard here but Armageddon keeps moving and retains side control.

Armageddon content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
English regains half guard.
Armageddon takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
English tries to roll over but Armageddon keeps him under control.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
English is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Armageddon's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Armageddon's back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Armageddon throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. English tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Armageddon is in English's guard.

English is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Armageddon defends well.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now English is on top in guard.

English is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Armageddon wants to control but English is keeping busy.
English is nestled in close to Armageddon, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Armageddon is refusing to be controlled, as English sits in half guard.
English throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
English throwing shots but Armageddon is blocking nicely.
Armageddon moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

English postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
English stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Armageddon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
English distracts Armageddon with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
English works a leg free and moves into half guard.
English is trying to control. Armageddon wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
English wants to pass the guard but Armageddon is defending well.
English is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Armageddon!
Alistair Armageddon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
English avoids the attempt from Armageddon to control.
Dale English has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
English lands a heavy elbow.

Well Armageddon has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
