The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
msalek looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Some wild striking there from Bruce.
msalek shoots for a double leg takedown but Bruce sprawls well. He's pushed msalek's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Bruce gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and msalek counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Bruce!

msalek cracks Bruce with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

msalek lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

msalek goes for an armbar but Bruce turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Bruce.
Bruce will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Bruce stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. msalek swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bruce makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Bruce wants to control from the top but msalek keeps moving.

msalek has his foot on Bruce's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bruce works his way back into a safe position though.
msalek looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bruce is one step ahead there.

Bruce is posturing up here but msalek has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Bruce tries to roll out but it's too tight and Bruce has to tap! Slick submission there by msalek!
