Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Desert Snake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Holliday (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Desert Snake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dave Holliday!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paulsen Ambrosius and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snake shoots in but Holliday avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Holliday misses with a series of wild punches.
Holliday tries to bum rush Snake with a series of wild strikes but Snake uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Snake avoids a punch combination nicely.
Holliday misses with a few strikes there.
Snake fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Holliday throws a right and a left that Snake avoids nicely.

Snake throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Holliday was covering up waiting for the punch and Snake finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Snake wants to control from the top but Holliday keeps moving.
Holliday wants to get back to his feet but Snake is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Snake working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Snake is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Snake is pushing down on Holliday's leg trying to pass to half guard. Holliday is fighting to maintain full guard but Snake has managed to sneak the leg through.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Snake wants to control but Holliday is keeping him busy.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Snake seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Holliday is trying to stand.
Holliday really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Snake. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Snake wants to pass the guard but Holliday is defending well.
Snake takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Desert Snake wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Holliday fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Holliday throws a right hand that Snake ducks under and follows up with a left that Snake also avoids with ease.
Holliday looks gassed!
Snake moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Snake is looking to clinch but Holliday is avoiding it.
Dave Holliday is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Snake darts in and clinches Holliday up against the cage.

Snake escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Snake closes the distance and pushes Holliday back into the cage.
Snake displaying some good clinch control by pressing Holliday up against the cage.
Holliday tries for a takedown but Snake manages to get underhooks.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Snake.
Snake lands with a light punch inside.
Still in the clinch, Snake scores with a nice short uppercut.

Snake struggles to land a body shot inside as Holliday controls his hands.
Snake fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Desert Snake. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Holliday breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Snake drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Holliday defending against the ground and pound.

Snake stands up and beckons Holliday to his feet.
Holliday misses with a double jab

and Snake moves into the clinch.
Holliday wants to break the clinch but can't.

Snake escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Holliday throws a left and a right that both miss
and Snake counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Desert Snake dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Snake throws a quick inside leg kick.
Holliday fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Snake has Holliday pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Holliday manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Snake breaks from the clinch.
Holliday throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Snake counters with a body kick that stops Holliday in his tracks momentarily.
Snake connects with a nice looking jab.
A slapping body kick lands there for Snake.
Snake tries to clinch there but Holliday circles away.
Snake has a takedown stuffed.

Snake closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Snake lands in his opponent's guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Snake seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Holliday for as long as he can get away with.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Holliday keeping moving, preventing Snake from controlling successfully.

Desert Snake has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Snake dives in and grabs Holliday's left leg, looking for a takedown. Holliday pushes down on Snake's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Desert Snake. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Snake keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Snake scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Snake tries to close the distance and clinch but Holliday swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Snake doesn't manage to clinch there - Holliday circles away.
Snake tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Holliday manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Snake connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Holliday misses with a few strikes there.
Holliday falls off balance throwing a combination

and Snake counters with a shoot takedown. Holliday fights it but they end up in guard.
Snake advances to half guard.

Snake stands up and beckons Holliday to join him on the feet.
Holliday avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Snake looks to land a combination. Holliday sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Holliday circles away from the clinch attempt.
Snake rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Holliday moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Snake is looking to clinch but Holliday is avoiding it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Holliday falls off balance throwing a combination
and Snake counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Holliday looks to throw the jab but Snake is out of range.
Snake throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A nice combination there by Snake.
Snake lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Holliday backs up against the cage.

Snake changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Holliday looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Holliday is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Snake has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Snake advances nicely into full mount.
Snake controlling the position easily from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Desert Snake dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Snake clinches up against the cage.
Snake misses with an elbow strike.
A frustrated look appears on Snake's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Snake lands a nice elbow.
Snake pushes Holliday back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Snake cracks Holliday with a nice body shot.

Snake gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Holliday regains guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Snake accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Snake with a flurry of punches that miss.
Snake would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Holliday keeping moving, preventing Snake from controlling successfully.
Snake is really struggling to control Holliday but he's trying to hold on to the position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Snake trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Snake's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Desert Snake wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Holliday misses with a double jab

and Snake counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Snake pulls guard effortlessly.
Snake wants to stand up but Holliday is controlling him.

Snake pushes Holliday off and scrambles back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Snake shoots for a takedown but Holliday saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Holliday throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Snake counters with a single leg into guard. Holliday didn't expect that.
Snake is stalling in the full guard.
Holliday can't keep his opponent in guard - Snake advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Snake tries to pass to full mount but Holliday defends it.
Desert Snake overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Holliday is refusing to be controlled, as Snake sits in half guard.
Holliday tries to kick Snake off in order to stand up. Snake Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Desert Snake is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Snake decides to stand back up. Snake steps back and let's Holliday get back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Desert Snake showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Snake has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
