Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Stephen Keyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Learmont (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Learmont has chosen Racer X - Scarified as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Stephen Keyes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Steve Learmont!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Daniel Blasius and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Learmont tries to clinch
and Keyes connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Learmont walks into a jab.
A head kick misses from Keyes.
Learmont uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Keyes.

Learmont doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Keyes counters with a right hand to the body.
No luck for Learmont with that takedown attempt.
Keyes throws a right and a left that Learmont avoids nicely.
Keyes throws a quick inside leg kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Learmont closes this distance looking for a takedown but Keyes circles away.
Stephen Keyes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Learmont.

Keyes connects with a nasty looking knee right to Learmont's face.

Keyes lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Keyes lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Keyes lands a good knee to the midsection. Learmont won't want to take too many of those.

Keyes unloads a knee to the mid-section. Learmont lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Keyes with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Keyes is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Keyes breaks the clinch.
Keyes shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Learmont eats them both and turns towards Keyes to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Learmont takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Learmont takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Learmont shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Keyes defends it nicely.
Keyes lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Keyes throws a head kick that Learmont semi-blocks.
Learmont changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Keyes lands a lovely overhand right.
A right-left combo lands from Keyes.
Learmont drops his hands momentarily and Keyes takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Steve Learmont seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Learmont on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Learmont takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Learmont shoots in but no luck this time.
Keyes lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Learmont takes a body punch but keeps moving.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Keyes sizes up Learmont with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Keyes rushes Learmont and presses him up against the cage.
Keyes landing knees to the head.
Learmont fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Learmont manages to pull guard.
Keyes throws a big right hand that misses.
Keyes throws and elbow that misses. Learmont uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Keyes's guard. Nice move by Learmont!
Keyes wants to sweep here but Learmont controlling him for the moment.
Learmont makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Learmont postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Keyes on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Keyes tries to get out of the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Learmont stands up and waves to Keyes to follow him.
Learmont shoots in and drives through. Keyes sprawls well.
Keyes throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Learmont stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Keyes pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Learmont shoots in and drives through. Keyes sprawls well.
Keyes lands a head kick. Learmont smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Learmont tries for a takedown but Keyes sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Keyes is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Learmont on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Learmont chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Keyes can pounce on him.
Nice sprawl there from Keyes as Learmont shoots in.
Learmont shoots in but Keyes avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Keyes lands a jab to Learmont's midsection.
Learmont takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Keyes connects with a good right hand that stumbles Learmont. Learmont circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Keyes throws a quick inside leg kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Learmont misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Keyes scores with a nice head shot.
Keyes's jab looks to have found its range, popping Learmont under the eye.

Learmont shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Keyes is trying to defend but Learmont finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Learmont missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Learmont seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Keyes does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Keyes wants to improve his position but Learmont is controlling well.
Keyes tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Learmont has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Learmont pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stephen Keyes dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Learmont fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Keyes sprawls well initially but Learmont persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Learmont lands a nice short elbow.
Keyes wants to get back to full guard.
Learmont wants to take a breather but Keyes is having none of it.
Keyes is trying to get back to full guard.
Learmont scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Learmont is trying to control the action in half guard but Keyes is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Keyes is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Learmont works his foot free and advances to mount.
Learmont with a couple of short strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Learmont has isolated one of Keyes's arms. Keyes looking to fight him off but Learmont twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
