The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left lands for Dilorenzo.
Dilorenzo swinging wildly here.
A telegraphed right hand from Gillette misses the target.
Dilorenzo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Dilorenzo scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Gillette lands a really nice looking cross but Dilorenzo seems unphased.
Dilorenzo slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Dilorenzo misses with an uppercut.
Gillette on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Gillette takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Dilorenzo connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gillette tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Dilorenzo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Gillette lands a right hand that snaps the head of Dilorenzo backwards.
Gillette tries to land a knee to the head but Dilorenzo blocks with his arms.
Dilorenzo blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Gillette prevents Dilorenzo from breaking the clinch.
Dilorenzo tries to pull guard but Gillette won't allow it.
Dilorenzo blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Dilorenzo jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gillette walks away with a smile on his face. Dilorenzo gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Gillette is looking to clinch but Dilorenzo is avoiding it.
Dilorenzo scores with a nice head shot.
Dilorenzo jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Gillette is rocked!
Dilorenzo misses with a series of wild punches.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Gillette tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Dilorenzo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Dilorenzo works the jab nicely.
Oh Gillette is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dilorenzo scores with a hook to the body. Gillette takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Gillette seems to have got his legs back now.
Dilorenzo dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Gillette is breathing heavily.

Dilorenzo drops Gillette with a left and a right! Oh, Gillette is hurt - Dilorenzo dives into side control looking to finish!

It looks like Jacques Gillette has been cut.

Dilorenzo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dilorenzo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Dilorenzo tries for a kimura but Gillette is defending well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dilorenzo working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Dilorenzo is looking to take a break and control but Gillette is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Dilorenzo has hold of Gillette's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Gillette seems comfortable defending it but Dilorenzo has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Gillette is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Gillette is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Dilorenzo couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Alfonso Dilorenzo!
