Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eric Correa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorge Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eric Correa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jorge Murphy!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy throws a combination that misses

and Correa counters with a nice double leg into side control. Murphy won't be happy with that.
Correa wants to stand but Murphy has his arm trapped.
Murphy is looking for a sweep.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Murphy can do anything to dispel that myth.
Murphy manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Murphy gets back to full guard.
Correa would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Murphy trying to control the position.
Murphy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Correa is one step ahead there.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Murphy lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Correa!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Murphy thowing shots but they're missing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eric Correa dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Murphy throws a left and a right that both miss

and Correa decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Murphy's guard.
Murphy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Correa is one step ahead there.
Correa would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Murphy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Murphy is on top in guard.

Correa controlling the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Correa manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Correa tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eric Correa dominated that second round.
That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Murphy fails to land with a series of punches.
Murphy throws a right hand that misses

Correa stopping the sweep attempt from Murphy.
Correa wants to stand and escape but instead Murphy has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Murphy trying to control but Correa is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Murphy passes Correa's left leg - he's now in half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

And that's the end of the fight!
Eric Correa showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Correa has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
