Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between David Long (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dzhabar Askerov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Askerov has chosen Je Resto Ghetto as his entrance music. Dzhabar Askerov told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

No joy there for Long, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Long shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Askerov eats them both and turns towards Long to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

David Long seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Askerov throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That was a close second round but I would say that David Long will probably get the nod.

Long throws the left hand but Askerov avoids the punch easily.
Long throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Long feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Askerovs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Askerov tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Long takes a swing at Askerov's ribcage but misses.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to David Long.
Well Long has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
