PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ruslan Achmedov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cristian Romero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Romero has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romero takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Romero looks gassed!
Romero takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Achmedov rushes Romero and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Achmedov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Achmedov scores with a head kick. Romero tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Achmedov moves into the clinch.

Achmedov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Achmedov tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Achmedov connects with a high kick.

Achmedov rushes Romero and presses him up against the cage.
Achmedov using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Romero has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Romero drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Achmedov pulls guard effortlessly.
Achmedov wants to stand but Romero is controlling the position.

Achmedov can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Romero controls the pace.
Romero stops Achmedov from standing up.
Romero stays in close to Achmedov's body and controls the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Romero passes Achmedov's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Achmedov is trying to stand back up but Romero is controlling him
Achmedov tries to kick Romero off in order to stand up. Romero Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Achmedov seems a little lost for a moment, as Romero dominates the positioning.
Achmedov wants to get back to his feet but Romero drags him back down.

Romero is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Romero tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Romero has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Romero creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Romero misses with the ground and pound.
Achmedov is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Romero asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Achmedov is trying to escape the position but Romero is controlling the position.

Romero has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Achmedov is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Romero yanks on the arm and Achmedov is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Romero.
