The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Light.
Light shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Smith sprawls well. Smith wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Light gets slowly back to his feet.

Light darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Smith is trying to maintain the position but Light is very close to passing his half guard.
Smith on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Smith keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Smith throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Light thows a huge punch but Smith dodges it nicely.
Light winds up and cracks Smith with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Nice strikes from Light there.

Smith is rocked!
Light has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Light is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Smith is hurt! He's hurt bad - Light fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Smith from any more punishment! Congratulations to Light! Great finish!
