Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mariano Castro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rod Brave (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brave has chosen Eco, Eco (somos de taleco) as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mariano Castro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rod Brave!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Paulo Santos and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brave looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Brave fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Castro has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Castro throws a sloppy head kick and Brave moves out of range easily.
Brave darts in and clinches Castro up against the cage.
Brave jumps into guard, dragging Castro to the mat.
Brave looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Brave pulls Castro in to control the position.

Castro drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Brave manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Castro has Brave in his guard.

Brave trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Brave advances to half guard.
Brave throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Brave trying to control from half guard but Castro is working away.

Castro is trying to stand back up but Brave is controlling him

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brave trying to control the position from guard on top but Castro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Brave is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Brave keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Castro's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Castro isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Brave stacks Castro on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Brave!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Castro wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Castro is breathing heavily.
Brave lands some shots froms side control.
Brave scoring with punches from side control.
Brave working the body and head with strikes.
Brave trying to control the action but Castro is working from the bottom.
Castro takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Brave cracks Castro with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Brave content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Brave has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Brave working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Castro gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Brave looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Brave maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Castro could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Brave has cracked it and Castro is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Brave!
