PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake OBrien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Krokodil Zelenij (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think OBrien might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Fire Work. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OBrien slips under a jab.
Zelenij swinging wildly here.

OBrien shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
OBrien looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Zelenij tries to get to full guard but OBrien has control of the leg.
The fighters are battling for position here. Zelenij manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

OBrien postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Zelenij is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of OBrien, into his guard.
OBrien lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Zelenij!
OBrien postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Zelenij looks a forlorn figure.
OBrien knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Zelenij on the ground.

OBrien working for a guillotine from mount but Zelenij is in no mood to give up.
Zelenij keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

OBrien wants to finish this one by submission but Zelenij is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from OBrien.

OBrien is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Zelenij has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Zelenij!
Zelenij postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
OBrien wants to sweep but no luck.

Zelenij thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

OBrien working for a triangle but Zelenij defends it easily.
OBrien is breathing heavily.
Zelenij stands and throws OBrien's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Zelenij misses with the ground and pound.
OBrien takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Zelenij tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Zelenij is trying to get an arm triangle but OBrien is defending well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Zelenij connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused OBrien some visible discomfort.
OBrien tries to buck Zelenij off but Zelenij is having none of it.

Zelenij has hold of OBrien's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! OBrien tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Zelenij cranks the arm and OBrien screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from OBrien, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
