Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Leroy Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, jose flores!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Chad Campbell and Columbo Gatti.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown shoots for a double leg takedown but flores sprawls well. He's pushed Brown's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Brown is working for takedown but flores is calmly controlling the position for now.
Brown has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. flores is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leroy Brown. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Brown tries for a takedown. No joy.
Brown is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

flores is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Brown is controlling him.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if flores can do anything to dispel that myth.
Brown stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. flores swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Brown is breathing heavily.

flores working for a triangle but Brown defends it easily.
Brown throws a strike but flores rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Brown wants to improve his position but instead flores has moved into half guard.

flores decides to return to a standing position.

flores fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Brown, pushing him back against the cage.
Brown goes for a takedown attempt but flores pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

flores looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Brown!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Brown tries to improve his position but instead flores has taken his back!
flores has good solid back control here.

flores lands punches and elbows.
I really don't envy Brown right now.

flores is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Brown is defending well though. flores let's go of the attempt for now.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

flores is trying to stick to Brown's back but Brown is turning into flores. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in flores's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Brown.
Brown postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Brown working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of flores's head.
flores controls Brown momentarily but Brown frees himself.

Brown tries to free his leg and advance position but flores is retaining full guard.
Brown is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Brown distracts flores with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Brown advances to half guard.
Brown scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Brown blocks the strikes from flores.
Brown lands with a punch from half guard.

flores manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Brown closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

A big shot lands for Brown! That's hurt flores! Will he recover? Brown fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
