The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Tonno.
Tonno tries to clinch up but LePierre circles away and keeps his distance.

Tonno misses with a jab, cross combination.
Tonno throws an uppercut from half a mile away. LePierre sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Tonno shoots in and bounces LePierre off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Tonno tries to score a power double leg takedown but LePierre sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tonno somewhat.
Giovanni Tonno seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tonno shoots in but LePierre avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Tonno throws a right hand that LePierre ducks under and follows up with a left that LePierre also avoids with ease.

LePierre is looking to wear down Tonno with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

LePierre ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tonno moves away.
LePierre looks to score with a jab to the body but Tonno is just out of range.
Tonno loads up on a big right hand but LePierre slips the punch.
Tonno tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. LePierre manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
LePierre ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tonno moves away.

A close round but Giovanni Tonno will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Tonno shoots in looking for a takedown. LePierre tries to sprawl out of it but Tonno keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. LePierre manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Tonno is breathing heavily.

and LePierre counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
LePierre throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Tonno on the side of the head.

LePierre bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Tonno's head backwards.

The fighters circle, before LePierre throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Tonno's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! LePierre lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
