PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stan Marsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Denny Chase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Stan Marsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Denny Chase!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marsh is trying hard to land a takedown here. Chase sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Chase misses with a straight right.
Marsh shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Chase sprawls well. Chase wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Marsh gets slowly back to his feet.
Chase thows a left - swing and a miss!
Chase tries to score a power double leg takedown but Marsh sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Chase somewhat.
Chase swings for the body but Marsh moves out of range.
Denny Chase seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Chase looks to throw the jab but Marsh is out of range.
Chase swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Chase shoots in looking for a takedown but Marsh manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Chase's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Marsh postures up and lands a big shot to Chase's brow.

Chase is looking to stand up but Marsh isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Chase wants to stand and escape but Marsh is having none of it.

That was a close round but I would say that Stan Marsh will probably get the nod.

Chase connects with a good right hand that stumbles Marsh. Marsh circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Marsh tests Chase's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Chase loads up on a big right hand but Marsh slips the punch.

and Marsh counters with a takedown into side control.
Marsh looks up at the clock and then as Chase takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Marsh smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Chase is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Marsh asserts his dominance and retains side control.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Chase wants to get back to his feet but Marsh drags him back down.

Marsh got a little sloppy there for a moment and Chase has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Marsh has managed to get both his arms back between Chase's legs - danger averted.

Marsh stands up over Chase, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Marsh digs a right hand underneath Chase's ribcage. Chase let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Marsh stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Chase wants to get back to striking at distance but Marsh won't allow it.
Marsh lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Chase wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Marsh, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
