The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Konstantin Menshow and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maurer looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Maurer shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Austin's guard.

and Maurer counters with a shoot takedown. Austin fights it but they end up in guard.

Maurer is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Maurer won't allow Austin to get back to his feet.

Maurer postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Austin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Maurer, into his guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Austin gets to his feet. Maurer looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alois Maurer dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


No joy there for Austin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Austin stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Maurer tries for a takedown but Austin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Austin keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Austin misses with a low kick as Maurer jumps back.
Austin moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

so Maurer counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Maurer works over Austin with some ground and pound from guard.

Austin scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Maurer tries to clinch but Austin is having none of it.

and Maurer counters with a nice double leg into side control. Austin won't be happy with that.

Austin pushes Maurer away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Maurer gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Austin is looking for a sweep.

Maurer decides to stand back up. Maurer steps back and let's Austin get back to his feet.
Maurer throws the kick towards the body but Austin avoids it.
Maurer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Austin as he avoids it easily.
Steve Austin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alois Maurer.

Maurer wants to finish this one by submission but Austin is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Maurer.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Austin somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!

Alois Maurer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Maurer winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
