PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gustavo Guerrero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ross Kemp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Guerrero comes to the cage accompanied by Borracho Te Recuerdo. Kemp has chosen Cockney Thug as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gustavo Guerrero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ross Kemp!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Luis Engracia and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kemp throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Guerrero makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Guerrero fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kemp, pushing him back against the cage.
Kemp lands a hook that snaps the head of Guerrero backwards.
Guerrero can't find room to land a body shot as Kemp controls the action.

Guerrero turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Kemp holding on.
Kemp gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Kemp slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Kemp lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Guerrero!
Guerrero is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Guerrero tries to hold on but Kemp pushes him away.
Kemp unloads with some shots from mount but Guerrero bucks and avoids them well.

Kemp lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Guerrero wants to control but Kemp is having none of it.

Kemp is stalling here but it's allowed Guerrero to get half guard.

Guerrero keeping moving, preventing Kemp from controlling successfully.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Kemp throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Guerrero works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Kemp is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Guerrero pulls Kemp in close to his closed guard and prevents Kemp from doing any damage or advancing position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kemp trying to control the position from guard on top but Guerrero is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Gustavo Guerrero wasn't doing enough on the ground.
A lazy left from Kemp finds it's target.
Kemp tries to clinch but Guerrero moves out of range.
Gustavo Guerrero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kemp tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Guerrero paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Guerrero rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Kemp lands with a shot to the body.
Kemp misses with a jab, cross combination.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Guerrero on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

and Guerrero counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ross Kemp dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Guerrero scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Guerrero fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Kemp on the side of the head.
Guerrero tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kemp lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Guerrero has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Guerrero and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Kemp tries to clinch but Guerrero is having none of it.
Guerrero walks into a straight right hand from Kemp.
Guerrero misses with a body shot.
Guerrero looks to score with a jab to the body but Kemp is just out of range.
Guerrero will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Kemp, right into the meat.
Guerrero takes a swing at Kemp's ribcage but misses.
Guerrero circles away from the clinch attempt
and Guerrero counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Kemp thinking.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Kemp in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
Guerrero takes one to the chin there.

Kemp keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Guerrero is looking to wear down Kemp with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Kemp misses with a double jab

and Guerrero counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Guerrero is trying to control the action in half guard but Kemp is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Kemp has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Guerrero is working away from the top position though.
Guerrero takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Kemp wants to get back to full guard.

Guerrero won't allow Kemp to sweep him here.

Kemp is pulling down on Guerrero's head. It's preventing any offense from Guerrero, at least for the moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Guerrero sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kemp's guard.
Kemp manages to get to full guard.

Guerrero throws and elbow that misses. Kemp uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Guerrero's guard. Nice move by Kemp!

Guerrero is looking to regain half guard here but Kemp keeps moving and retains side control.

Kemp is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Guerrero knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Ross Kemp showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Guerrero connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Kemp momentarily.

letting Kemp counter with a right hand.
Guerrero lands a nice looking body shot.
Guerrero throws out a loose jab but Kemp uses good head movement to avoid it.

Guerrero changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Ross Kemp is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Guerrero takes the fight into the clinch.
Guerrero just leaning against Kemp, taking a breather.
Kemp tries to throw a body punch but Guerrero avoids it by throwing Kemp back against the cage.
Kemp tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Kemp throws a punch but it's blocked by Guerrero.
Guerrero is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kemp pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Guerrero misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Guerrero has Kemp pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kemp manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Kemp is leaning against Guerrero and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Guerrero tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Kemp tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Guerrero tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kemp's elbow.
Kemp lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Kemp lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Guerrero backwards.
Kemp lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Guerrero backwards.
Guerrero's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Kemp digs a right hand into Guerrero's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Guerrero's gas tank.
Kemp prevents a body shot from Guerrero.
Kemp digs a right hand underneath Guerrero's ribcage. Guerrero let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Guerrero is looking to control Kemp's arms but Kemp gets an underhook and turns him. Now Guerrero has his back to the cage.
Kemp gets through Guerrero's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Kemp lands a nice uppercut.


Guerrero is rocked!
Kemp has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Kemp lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Oh Guerrero is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kemp throws a big uppercut that drops Guerrero! More strikes from Kemp and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Guerrero lies dazed against the cage as Kemp celebrates with his cornermen!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ross Kemp!
