PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sathias Pacstan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Burnside (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pacstan comes into the arena with God Hates a Coward - Tomahawk blaring out of the sound system. Burnside is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Clipse - Money. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eddie Burnside!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burnside closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Pacstan wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Burnside works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Burnside lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Burnside winds up and cracks Pacstan with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Pacstan is not content to let Burnside control the position.

Burnside has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Pacstan's face.

Burnside is landing with some decent strikes but Pacstan is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Burnside pushes down on Pacstan's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Burnside really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pacstan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Burnside connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Pacstan some visible discomfort.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Burnside decides to stand up, so the ref orders Pacstan to his feet.
Burnside throws a good cross that connects.

Burnside shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Burnside showed some decent athleticism there.
Burnside seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Burnside in particular looking to stall.
Burnside looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Burnside trying to control the action but Pacstan is working from the bottom.
Burnside is thwarting Pacstan's attempts to control the position.
Pacstan tries to roll over but Burnside keeps him under control.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Burnside in particular looking to stall.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Burnside. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Burnside is looking for a kimura but Pacstan is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Burnside to get the leverage.

The fighters are battling for position here. Pacstan manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Pacstan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Burnside can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Burnside moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Pacstan.
Burnside lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Pacstan down.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Burnside is sitting in close to Pacstan's body. Pacstan has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Burnside is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Burnside is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Pacstan.
