PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marvin Hinton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quinn Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hinton comes to the cage accompanied by Pantera - Mouth For War. Johnson has chosen Ice Cube - It Was a Dood Day as his entrance music. Marvin Hinton had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 206.8lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marvin Hinton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Quinn Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hinton thows a body shot but no joy.
Hinton punishes Johnson's body with a nice straight punch.
Johnson takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Johnson throws a front kick aimed at Hinton's knee but Hinton avoids it well.
Johnson misses the shot to the body.
Johnson avoids a punch combination nicely.

Hinton throws a series of punches but Johnson moves out of range.
Johnson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hinton.

Johnson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Oh Hinton is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Hinton lands a nice leg kick that just misses Johnson's sensitive parts.

Johnson has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Hinton ducks straight into an uppercut from Johnson and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Hinton maanges to regain guard straight away.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Marvin Hinton.
