Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Carl Eggson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Walter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eggson closes the distance but Walter moves to the side

and Walter counters with a shoot takedown. Eggson fights it but they end up in guard.

Walter gets to his feet - Eggson follows without any prompting.
Walter lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Walter misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Walter displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Eggson.

Walter throws a quick inside leg kick.
Eggson tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Eggson misses with the combination.
Walter delivers a nice body kick.
Eggson takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Walter tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Walter throws a head kick that misses.
Walter fakes the leg kick and cracks Eggson in the body.
A head kick misses from Walter.
Eggson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Eggson is breathing heavily.
Eggson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Walter counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Walter throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Eggson moves out of range as Walter throws a body kick.
Walter pushes Eggson away with a front kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Walter lets loose with a powerful body kick. Eggson will feel that in the morning.
A head kick from Walter lands but Eggson takes it in his stride.
Eggson takes a kick to the side of the head.
Walter misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Walter throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Eggson.
Eggson throws a nice looking combination but Walter bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Walter scores with a leg kick.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Walter! Eggson is out on his feet! Walter rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Eggson is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Eggson is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
